up the Hohe Salve – day 11 skiing season 2012/13

On our way back to Vienna we stopped at the Hohe Salve which belongs to the ski-region ‚Wilder Kaiser-Brixental’ – Austria’s largest interconnected ski area. This day – I think – we found the only ‚Sun hole’ in the Eastern Alps. What a luck and what an excellent closure of the skiing season! :-)

Hochzillertal & Hochfuegen – day 10 skiing season 2012/13

I’ve never been to this valley – one of the most classical Austrian skiing areas. (We found the ‚classical’ also in the price for the lift pass which was 10 Euro higher than the day before.) Nevertheless it is worth to do a ski trip to Zillertal because the slopes are wide and the possibilities for skiing enthusiasts are enormous. More clouds than the day before but most of the day perfect skiing conditions.

Christlum at Lake Achen – day 9 skiing season 2012/13

Some new scenery! We went to Achenkirch in Tyrol for an extended skiing weekend. The first day we spent at the small but fine skiing area Christlum, where we found excellent snow conditions as well as great sunshine for the whole day. The ‚soup oft he day’ was also a pleasure as you might see on the picture! ;-)

Some action on a Thursday evening! The firm offered the possibility to play lasertag. Therefore we ran through dark scenery on the search for ‚enemies’. Hmm, interesting!

Roma @ sede vacante

A trip to Rome in March is always welcome to catch some rays. It’s been twenty years that I’ve been there the last time although they say it’s always worth a visit. And that’s true! Beautiful weather accompanied us the whole weekend and we had a nice time when visiting the famous landmarks everyone knows.

At Vatican City we bought some ‚sede vacante’ stamps and once more the overwhelming intensity and monumentality of the St Peter’s Basilica impressed us. A romantic dinner at Monte Mario completed a perfect weekend.
