Sister's 30th

Saturday was my sister's great day! Her 30th birthday! Actually her birthday is on the 24th but we did the big party one day later.

I was at Rita's place around 2 pm and we went to pick up the catering and to prepare the party cellar. Mum has brought 'billions' of cookies and three cakes and Rita has bought a party pretzel forming the numbers 3 and 0. She also asked some of her colleagues to do morsels and canapes. So we cooled the drinks and prepared the buffet.

The invitation told the people that the party will start at 7 pm but it took 15 more minutes for the first guest. So I took the time and painted a certificate for the first guest ;-)

We served the famos 'Vodka Melon' as welcome drinks and the next two hours most of the guests rushed in. Around 9 pm my sister opened the grand buffet.

Rita got presents and I drew beer, kept suplies coming to the buffet, polished off, cleaned glasses and dishes and was photographer for the evening.

As time goes by people started to dance, the mood arose and the volume was pumped up! Around 11.30 pm friends of mine (Wiesi, Tuechi, Peli, Max) rushed in and I served them beer and pushed them to eat someting (needless to say I had to recommend Mom's homemade W4 poppy seed cake)!

Around 3 am many of the guests started to leave but as always there is a bunch of people that continues drinking until the morning grows. With the dawn Rita and I started to clean up the location and to pack the things we will pick up and bring home during the afternoon. Went to bed at 8 am!

Successful party – especially organised for Rita!

Rainy Wednesday

On Wednesday Katya and I wanted to visit the Xmas markets for the first time this season. We agreed to go to the old general hospital. Unfortunately it rained and Katya called me that she would prefer to go to a pub close to her appartment. So I said ok!

However it was time for this seasons first hot wine.

As I was at the students union building I betake myself to the main entrance of the university to retrieve a cup of fresh hot wine brewed by the students party I'm member of. This year they expanded their stand by doubling the sales area. Like every year the stairs were crowded but I got a cup from my special friend Elke! After a view words with Ben - the head of the students union - I returned to my work.

Around 8.30 pm I met Katya and we entered a pub called Underground! It looked like we were the sole guests and the band played only for us (kind of jazz)! After tattling with Katya and donating 2 Euro for the band Katya invited me to her appartment for having a pumpkin soup!

Wondering Wednesday!

Go Irish

Another saturday night in the city!

I met Reini and Hannes at good old Charlie P's because we decided to do someting special. We decided to go Irish! ;-) Simply there is one major differece to other evenings – you start with an Irish ale! After the 3rd beer you can change to lager 'cause it doesn't matter anymore.

Our conversation was good and Wiesi joined us around 11 pm. Later we went down in the basement. They played kind of alternative music and bands I prefered when I was younger.

Around 2 am my friends left. Hannes wanted to continue the night at Q[kju:]-bar. We shared a taxi and he entered the night life whereas the taxi brought me home. Slept long today morning!

The HalloWien

Yesterday was the 31st of October and as the 1st Nov is a holiday we went out. I met Max, Wiesi, Tuechi and Peli at the MAK to have a look at the X-Box Xperience but it was to crowded. So we went on for the 'Bieramt' to start the evening with a couple of unstrained 'Zwickl' beer.

After a short intermezzo for a cocktail at Maria's Roses we entered the 'Bermuda Triangle' and started in a pub called 'Swizzl' - if I remember right! Peli paid for two rounds of Tequila and we enjoyed the 'German Schlager'-atmosphere there ;-).

We went on to 'Funky Monkey' for some more beer and ended up at the 'Stoneage' early in the morning. Thank God I found the right moment to leave around 3.30 am. Excellent!
