Early snow at Munich

The last weekend of October we went to Munich to visit B's friend. We didn't do much sightseeing there – we more enjoyed the culinary delights (Bavarian veal sausage, Leberkaes). We also did some shopping with the girls where we saw a weird crowd waiting in front of the A&F store to shop [shaking the head]. And that in snow flurry! Yes, we got the first snow of the season when leaving the country. ;-)

At the Schneeberg

Excellent weather conditions brought us to the decision to go to Lower Austrias highest mountain – the Schneeberg. It's the easternmost 2000 m-high mountain in the Alps. We took the rack-and-pinion railway, the Schneeberg Railway, which is now over 100 years old, to climb to a height of 1,800 m (with a stop at the famous Buchtel hut on our way up). On the plateau we hiked in an unhurried atmosphere for several hours. Late in the afternoon we returned to Vienna.
