imperial palace - Hofburg

It's always a pleasure to attend events that take place at former imperial locations. This time I was invited to the Hofburg (imperial palace) especial the 'Großer Redoutensaal'. Here, history and the present day go hand in hand. The hall has been the setting for Mozart operas, the premier of Beethoven’s 8th symphony as well as a summit between US president John F. Kennedy and the premier of the USSR Nikita Khrushchev. After a fire in 1992 it features today a new ceiling painting by Josef Mikl. Even though the event was very crowded I enjoyed it.

cloud 21

On Friday I attended an event at the DonauCity. It took place on the 21st floor of the Saturn Tower in a location called 'Wolke 21'. The catering was excellent and the small talk inspiring. The view from the patio was also great – so was the fare for the Taxi that brought me home.

Sunny Sunday

I picked apples in our garden on Saturday afternoon. The quality of our wildling is not the best but it's adequate for strudel or compote. Therefore we wanted to favour our relatives with the fruits but no one was at home. Hence we placed the fruit crate in front of their garage and visited the 'Wachtstein' ;-)

Zwettler Bier – 3 centuries old

Our local brewery celebrated its 300 years of existence on sunday. Therefore they set up a big beer tent and also two bouncy castles for the kids. Prepared with a voucher I snatched a glass of the special beer they brewed for the event. They called the beer 'Jubilar'. Another voucher made me proud possessor of a 'Mohnzelte'. Hmmmm!

downtown

For the celebration of his 31st birthday Georg invited for a homy get-together. We met at Pancho's and had some Mexican food für dinner as well as a couple of beers.

Afterwards Wiesi, Max, Kult and I decided to disappear in the 'Bermuda triangle'. We found our way out past 3 am!
