New skis for grX

The last skiing day I made a decission about new skis. Here they are. Brand new Atomic. Tested under snow conditions by myself. There's only on thing to say: 'Thank's for neraly 10 years service to my old Blizzard (my first carving skis)!'

This seasons last skiing day! :-( The conditions were good and I tried different skis that were on winter sale.

Another beautiful day for skiing. We went to the Kitzsteinhorn and the additional 1000 metres altitude made also the snow conditions perfect. From the night before the girl felt a little bit tired and therefore she spent most of the afternoon in a sunchair.

From Gastein to Zell/See

On wednesday we changed from the Gastein valley to Zell am See. But first we visited the old town of Bad Gastein. We weren't in a hurry. In the afternoon we checked in at Zell am See and accompanied some Belgian skier for après ski.

The next day was the girl's birthday. She received lots of presents at breakfast and than we decided to ski at Bad Gastein. The conditions for skiing became worse. The temperature increased by more than 10 degrees and therefore we sweat a lot and the snow became sticky early after midday. Nevertheless we had a nice skiing day/birthday.

Whereas one of us was flying (due to the wind conditions one flight lasts aprox. one hour) the other one was skiing. It was a perfect day for skiing. Fresh snow from the day before and low degrees combined with bright sunshine made it this seasons best skiing day.

Flying like the birds

On easter monday we wanted to ski late in the morning but we received an early call that today the conditions are the best for paragliding. I got a tandem fly for birthday so we headed forward to Dorfgastein and within an hour I was flying like a bird. Cool!

Hiking at Bad Gastein

At easter we went to countryside Salzburg. We stayed at a very nice hotel close to Bad Gastein. It's been heavy snowing on easter sunday so we decided to hike around (instead of skiing or lying in sun).
