BBQ trip to Stockerau
On friday another firm's outing took place at Rohrmoos close to Schladming in Styria. Although the weather pattern changed we had luck because it rained only before and after the outdoor activities (but then the whole night). The programme started with a common lunch at the disco 'Knappenkeller'. After a short show programme the summer challenge started. It consisted of 6 stages.
My group's first stage was archery. A new experience. The second stage was abseiling (montain rescue) followed by a funny Segway parcours at the third stage. The other three stations were less action-packed. They were a short introduction in kinesiology, some kind of karaoke singing and tasting of and searching for herbs. After some time to freshen up we had an excellent dinner surrounded by presentations and around 10 pm the informal part started at the 'Knappenkeller'. The next day consisted of a long workshop from 9 am to 1 pm. Lunch was then the official end of the firm's out and the people left for their homes. It's been an interesting trip.
As my mom wants to renovate our house we visited today the BIOEM at Gross Schoenau. The BIOEM is a fair that hands with renewable energy, energy efficient constructions, passive houses etc. We went back home with a lot of brochures and leaflets as well as a packet of soup noodles (in star shape) made of spelt flour.
My long-time roommate at dorm decided to tie the knot. Last Saturday the church wedding took place at Halbthurn. I went down there with three other dorm friends and a wheelbarrow on the loading platform. After a reception at the parental home of his bride-to-be a wedding march to the church took place – gawked by the inhabitants of the village. The mass was very nice and afterwards a picture was taken in front of the castle Halbthurn. The solemnities continued in the second castle courtyard with another reception and the hand-over ceremony of the presents. Around 5 pm the big gala dinner startet and accordingly the dance floor was opened. Around midnight the informal traditional wedding games took place but the night was still young. All the best to the bridal couple.
On Whitsunday - like the years before - the local hobby football tournament took place. It seems that the weather conditions are bad every two to three years. Luckily it didn't hard rain. However the temperature was low. Nevertheless I spent the afternoon on having a beer and chatting with the people.
