Castle ruin 'Aggstein'

High above the river Danube at the 'Wachau' area the castle ruin of 'Aggstein' is located. Had a nice trip there yesterday (although the weather conditions weren't good but that gave it kind of a mystical touch).

Student's Council Election 2009

Two years have passed and it's been time for the Student's Council Election again. I think our party did a good election campaign. Nevertheless the excitement increased hour by hour. Around 9 pm we received a preliminary official result having us in front with a slight loss of approx. 1.4 per cent (what means that we kept our high level at 65.4 per cent). Our friends at the other universities did also a good job. Our party won an overall plus of two mandates for the Federal Representation.

Thus for nearly everybody was in high spirits. People jubilated and hugged each other. Now we changed our location and attended the official election party. A jamboree for the whole night. Having a late night goulash teased out the last power reserve. Tired I went to bed.

1st of May – Labour Day

We started the Labour Day celebrations on Thursday evening by attending the 'open air against racism' close to the fair grounds. Afterwards we had a traditional late night 'Autodrom' race at the theme park area of the Prater. On Friday we met at Praterstern past noon and walked through the masses to find a place to have a picnic at one of the wide meadows of the Prater. After two hours lying in the sun I had to leave for newspaper production.
