The 25th of December

An annual legal holiday is December 25 (of course - it's Christmas)! Beside the ho-ho-ho thing it's also my birthday! And like every year it is a welcome occasion for friends to celebrate a little bit (and to leave the relatives around the tree).

This year the round was a little bit crowded - we needed an extra table at the Café Sued. Later on we changed the location and went to the Kuba-Bar for a birthday cocktail for free.

After a shortcut to the 'Flying Dutchman' and a view into the Leiwaund-Bar we ended the evening around 3 am!

Thanks to the group of participants and greetings to our missing friend who's right now at the end of the world. Greetings to Georg in Australia!

Christmas at Zwettl

Birthday Happening (to avoid the word 'Christmas')

To make up for Peli's birthday celebration we met at the Volkstheater and entered the 'Kaeuzchen'! I insisted in calling this event not a christmas party. We tattled for hours and then switched location. The 'Chelsea' was chosen. 80s evening tonight!

... and again Christmas market

By following the tradition of the day before, another Christmas market visit took place. This time the well known 'Wiener Christkindlmarkt' in front of the town hall was chosen. I met KW and his girlfriend Doris to have some cups of hot wine. Like the day before the frostiness forced us into a pub where a beer was very welcome. In the end I had a ride home (thanks to the driving lady Doris)!

Christmas market

I tried a new christmas market location - namely the one in front of the imperial castle! I met Steve and Lemmi and we tried to have some hot wine. Due to the frostiness we switched to the Schlossbraeu after the second hot wine (and we continued drinking beer). It was a nice evening with friends I haven't seen for months!

Second and Third Christmas Party

The firm celebrated itself thursday night at the Racino. The catering was exquisite and a tribute to Falco show was performed. The act was followed by a live band called 'The Family'. When I left the party around 1.45 in the morning it started to snow.
The thursday night celebration was followed by the company's christmas party on friday. This time a Heuriger was chosen. There was also excellent food served and the night lasted longer than resolved.

First Christmas Party

It's the final spurt to christmas - the season of christmas parties whether among friends, in the company or with clubs and societies. The first took place yesterday at the Unibraeu and it was the pimped out version of the weekly monday Flash. The tavern was crowded but the service was quick. There are two christmas parties to follow this week! I hope I survive them!

Start of the Skiing Season

Yeah, it was time for skiing! Hurra, this year the snow conditions were great! Nearly every slope was open and less people on it!

Thursday evening I picked up Hannes and Wiesi at the terminus of the U6 and we started our trip to Salzburg!

Around 9 pm we arrived at the new hotel and the skiing and partying weekend could start!


It snowed all the time on our first skiing day but the slope conditions were great. The following days we had the luck of sunshine that completed the perfect weekend. It was possible to ski down all slopes to the village - I've never had this before at the end of November. They also built two new ski-lifts - one gondola up to the panorama restaurant and one new chairlift for 6 people replacing an old chairlift and a T-bar lift.

The leisure programme was also exciting with the new 'party apartement', the lobby bar having a big flat screen for the broadcasting of the ski races and the in-house disco (see the video of two guys having a hangover the next day ;-).

It was hard to leave on sunday evening 'cause I would've preferred to stay longer!
