KW's grewing older

KWs birthday is on September 3rd! So once a year Café Ministerium is a checkpoint. This time we also got Viennese Schnitzel -hmm!

Later KW paid for a round of the local drink called 'Baucherl' - a mixture of coke and brandy. It was a funny evening and I rode a Vienna Bike home ;-)

ZT WIESI 30

Saturday is a good day for a birthday! Wiesi invited for a pub crawl over Zwettl. It was announced to be his 30th birthday. Thank God we did only two locations - that made the next day a better one ;-)

We started at the always willingly attended Café Sued and later on crossed the river Kamp to the Kuba Bar for some cocktails (even a free one for the birthday boy)! Unfortunately mine did not savour very well. People continued the night at a local event in Traunstein but I allowed Tuechi to bring me home!

Large-scale Heuriger

Taking advantage of the holiday on the following day we went to the large-scale Heuriger in Pfaffstaetten. I've never heard of that event but that didn't prevent me from riding the Badener Bahn for nearly one hour. The extravaganza calls itself the biggest wine festival in Austria.

So we started 'wine tasting' and I had a plate of cevapcici. The 'world famous' Nina Stern sang Schlager music and the darkness descended. Nevertheless being that far away from home forced us to take the last train back to vienna.

The Teppanyaki 30th

On Friday Reini invited for his 30th anniversary. Born in 1977 (the year the Republic of Niger became member of the African Development Bank) he became 30 on August 3rd 2007! Therefore an invitation was extended and I had to appear at the Bamboo chinese restaurant. Yeah, something new, no Estancia! It was a funny restaurant. You pick up the meat and vegetables of your favour and hand it over to the chief master cook at the teppanyaki grill. Now the action effect follows! You have to memorise which of the small heaps is yours. If you remember till your food heap is well done you have the opportunity to choose between 10 sauces from sweet-mild to spicy. After the dinner some presents were handed over. Reini got some 'household articles' from us and a DVD-recorder from others!

Later on we changed the location. They wanted to come to see the 'Wiener Freiheit'! It had the touch of a queer club so after the second drink another change of scene took place. This time they chose a very beat-up Aussie pub called Down Under. Nevertheless the music was better and a welcome Jaegermeister made the scene more surreal. Around 3 a.m. I definitely had to go.
