Hangar 7 & Le Ciel featuring Obersalzberg

Last weekend we went to Bavaria. That was Bees birthday present. We went to Berchtesgaden, to be more precise, to the InterContinental Resort Obersalzberg. Set in the Bavarian Alps 1,000 metres above sea level, this stunning luxury hotel boasts dramatic alpine views stretching in every direction. We enjoyed the spa with indoor and outdoor pools as well as a trip to the Koenigsee, a lake that was formed by glaciers during the last ice age.

Our package included two dinners. The first took place at Salzburg (Restaurant Ikarus at Hangar 7). We were picked up by a sedan service and spent a nice evening with excellent dishes under the 'Ikarus concept' of celebrity changing guest chefs. The other evening meal occured at the resorts own Michelin-starred Le Ciel and was a little bit more down-home and less experimental than the day before. Nevertheless both meals have been high cuisine at its best.
