Due to the EURO 2008 in June they postponed the Danube Island Festival to September. This year the line up was not that good like over the past years. But the weather was great and hey - it's for free. So I visited several stages over the weekend. I started friday evening with meeting some friends and doing kind of a German/Austrian wave with 'Wir sind Helden' and 'Wolfgang Ambros'.
Helden
Saturday was followed by - let's say world music - with 'Shantel & Bucovina Club Orkestar' doing a good performance at the culture radio tent. Scared away by the voice of UB 40 (?) at the main stage we ended the night at the alternative stage.

On sunday morning I was a little bit tired from running up and down the island for two days. Nevertheless I stand firm and met with Georg quarter to ten to attend Mass at the 'Country & Western' stage. Because of the hot weather the paramedics had to take care about some people that collapsed (like the singer of Manfred Mann's Earth Band the day before).
I was back home for the launch of the Belgian Grand Prix and afterwards I was to tired to go back to the island. Therefore I relaxed for rest of the day as well as it started to rain in the late evening. Exhausting weekend!
